The LA County Office of Education is seeking a Full-Time paraeducator for various sites through LA
Provide instructional and physical assistance to students who are developing the foundation for progressive mastery of reading, writing, and mathematics and are on track for a certificate of achievement rather than a high school diploma.
Many programs emphasize students’ skill development related to feeding, toileting, grooming, and appropriate social behavior. Assist the teacher with instruction in traditional academic programs where students are on track to receive a diploma. Students are emotionally disturbed, at-risk, delinquent, neglected, involved in gangs, or on probation. Positions are located in the divisions of Student Programs, and Special Education.
High school diploma or GED.
Experience: Paraeducator-Academic Readiness, substantial experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults with special developmental needs is desirable.
Pass the LACOE written test of ability to assist in the instruction of reading, writing, and mathematics, successful completion of the Los Angeles County Office of Education online Paraeducator Academy and Paraeducator Activities Questionnaire.
