seeking FT Development Coordinator

Coordinator of Volunteer and Donor Relations

Lamp Community ends homelessness of Los Angeles' most vulnerable individuals, primarily adults with mental illness, through a continuum of services and housing, enabling them to reach their highest level of self-sufficiency and community integration.

The Coordinator of Volunteer and Donor Relations will be responsible for managing an agency-wide volunteer program comprised of community members and agency clients. These duties will also be coordinated with fundraising efforts, agency-wide communication efforts, and event planning. The Coordinator will be the first point of contact for donor and volunteer inquiries. The Coordinator will liaise with the Finance Department for gift reconciliation and tracking.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and manage community-based and corporate volunteer programs
Support agency client volunteers
Manage an agency-wide volunteer activities calendar
Submit and process volunteer applications and respond to all volunteer inquiries in a timely manner
Manage and lead volunteer tours, community presentations, and orientations
Maintain records of volunteer hours, contact information, photo releases, applications, and other critical data
Plan and execute volunteer recognition events
Work with Director of External Relations to communicate volunteer activities, including photos and interviews
Ensure data quality in the Development database, Donor Perfect
Make recommendations regarding data organization and integrity, and reporting tools
Write and produce gift acknowledgment letters, including in-kind and tribute gifts
Produce weekly gift reports, including online giving
Liaise with Finance staff to ensure seamless data transfer and gift reconciliation
Manage all donor stewardship activities
Work with volunteers to maintain impeccable donor files, including foundation, corporate, and individual giving paperwork, including award letters, grant agreements, acknowledgment letters, and proposals
In conjunction with the Development team, execute fundraising events including the annual Fall Affair

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors degree
Two years’ experience working with fundraising activities, volunteers, or special events
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
Able to effectively communicate the importance of Lamp Community’s work in homelessness and poverty, mental health, and harm reduction
Detail oriented with excellent time management, organizational, written, verbal, interpersonal, and computer skills
Able to learn quickly and work effectively with a wide range of constituencies and with minimal supervision
Current, valid California Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record
Strong interpersonal and team building skills
Not-for-profit experience preferred
Experience with donor software preferred
